Samosa

One of the most popular Indian street food is Samosa. This triangle shaped snack stuffed with potato and spices is a must have when you are in India. And is very easy to make at home also. Here is the recipe of Samosa.

Ingredients:-

For Dough
2 Cups All Purpose Flour (Maida)
1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
2 Tablespoon Ghee (Clarified Butter) or Oil
1 Teaspoon Salt

For the Stuffing

3 Medium Sized Potatoes
1 Cup Green Peas (Matar)
1 Green Chili
~1/2 Inch Piece of Ginger
2-3 Cloves of Garlic
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
1 Teaspoon Dry Mango Powder (Amchur)
1/2 Cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
1 Tablespoon Oil


How to Make?

Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, and stir.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, dry mango or amchur powder and mix well.
Now add boiled mashed potatoes and pees in the mixture.
Add salt and stir to mix all the ingredients.
Your stuffing ready keep aside it to cool down.
Take a bowl and add maida, carom seeds, oil, salt and mix well.
Add water slowly and knead to make a firm dough.
Let it rest for few minutes and divide the dough in small balls.
Flatten the balls with a rolling pin and cut it in the two parts with a knife.
Apply water on the edges this will help the dough to stick together.
Fold the semicircle to make a hollow cone and join the 2 edges.
Fill the stuffing inside and seal the edges by pinching it in between your fingers.
Heat oil in a pan and drop  the samosa in the oil. Fry the samosa in low flame till it turn golden.

Your samosa is ready, serve it with green chutney or tomato ketchup and enjoy the delicious Indian snack at your home.

Aloo Chaat

3 Medium Sized Potatoes
1 Cup Green Peas (Matar)

How to Make?

Peel the boiled potatoes and cube them into 1 inch pieces.
Heat oil in a pan and add green chili and ginger-garlic paste.
Add the cubed potatoes and fry it until it turn golden and little crisp.
Add red chili powder, cumin powder, salt and chaat masala powder on potato.
Add green chutney and tamarind chutney.
Mix well and serve it on a plate.
